Our Commitment to Excellence
At Kalpani Industries (PVT) Ltd, we believe that the best products come from a deep respect for nature. Located in the fertile region of Aralaganwila, our state-of-the-art processing unit was established to bridge the gap between traditional coconut goodness and modern manufacturing standards.
Under the leadership of our Managing Director, we have built a facility that prioritizes hygiene, quality control, and sustainability. Every liter of oil we produce undergoes rigorous testing to ensure it meets the highest standards of purity for our local and international clients.
CEO’s Message

A Journey of Vision, Quality, and Family
“The story of Kalpani is more than just a business journey; it is a testament to perseverance
and a deep-rooted commitment to quality. My journey began in 1992, shortly after my marriage,
when I moved to this area and began exploring the world of commerce,. After gaining initial
experience in a ready-made business with my brother-in-law, I realized my true passion lay in
providing essential, high-quality goods to our community.
In 1993, I established our first retail venture, a grocery shop named ‘Kalpani’,,. Back then, the
scale was humble; I personally traveled to local fairs (pola) on a motorcycle to source and sell
our products,. At that time, we were moving only about 600 liters (three barrels) of coconut oil
per week. However, by 1994, my focus shifted entirely to the coconut oil trade, and I invested in
our first lorry to expand our reach,.
As the demand for our quality grew, so did our ambitions. Around the year 2000, we transitioned
from being traders to manufacturers by establishing our first oil mill at our shop location,. This
allowed us to take control of the production process, ensuring the purity of every drop. By 2010
and 2011, the business had outgrown its original home, leading us to build a modern factory
complex with significantly larger machinery to meet the increasing needs of our customers,.
Today, Kalpani has evolved into a major industry, producing between 12,000 and 15,000 liters
of coconut oil per week. Our logistics have grown from a single motorcycle to a fleet of three
bowsers, heavy lorries, and distribution vehicles.
This success has been a shared journey, built on a 50/50 partnership with my wife, and I am
proud to share that we are now transitioning into a Private Limited Company,,. As we look to
the future, we are integrating our son and daughter into the leadership team to ensure Kalpani
remains a family-led industry for generations to come. Our ultimate goal remains unchanged: to
provide our local consumers with the highest quality coconut oil and to take our premium Sri
Lankan products to the international export market,,.
Thank you for being a part of our story.”
