1.What is the difference between your White Coconut Oil and Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO)?

While both are pure, the extraction method differs. Our VCO is cold-pressed from fresh coconut milk without high heat, preserving all natural enzymes and a strong coconut aroma. Our White Coconut Oil is processed from dried kernels (copra) under controlled temperatures, making it a “cleaner” version of traditional cooking oil with a higher smoke point and a more neutral taste.

2. Are there any additives or chemicals used in your production?

Absolutely not. At Kalpani Industries, we pride ourselves on 100% purity. Our oils are free from preservatives, artificial fragrances, and chemical bleaching agents. What you get is the pure essence of Aralaganwila coconuts, just as nature intended.

3. Why is White Coconut Oil better for deep frying?

White Coconut Oil has a high smoke point (approximately 232°C). This means it can be heated to high temperatures without breaking down or releasing harmful toxins, making it safer and healthier for deep-frying and high-heat Sri Lankan cooking compared to many other vegetable oils.

4. How should I store the oil to maintain its freshness?

To ensure a long shelf life, store your Kalpani Industries oil in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. There is no need to refrigerate it. Pure coconut oil may solidify in cooler temperatures; this is a natural characteristic and does not affect the quality. Simply place the bottle in warm water to liquefy it again.

We source our raw materials directly from trusted local coconut estates in and around Aralaganwila. By sourcing locally, we ensure that the coconuts are processed while they are fresh, and we are proud to support the farming community in our region.
